Hello! My name is Emily Eckman and I’m a United States Marine. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and spent the majority of my teenage years running and studying. I had my sights set on finding a way to make college affordable. Through hard work and dedication I was fortunate to obtain a scholarship in both running and academics at William Penn University. In the small town of Oskaloosa, Iowa I found my opportunities endless. While working towards my bachelor’s in Pre Professional Biology with a minor in Theater I engaged myself in many projects. I served as VP and President for Alpha Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society. With my colleagues we were able to teach our peers and children, from the local elementary, how to interact both creatively and socially. I also tutored and mentored both in academia and privately, peers and troubled youths.

Post College I’ve had a growing interest in politics and medicine. I volunteered during the 2008 presidential campaign. Following that I volunteered at St. John’s Hospital in the “Angels of the Emergency Room” department where we were nationally recognized for being the most renowned volunteer program for an ER.

Outside work and volunteering I like swimming, burning the rubber, and running. I’ve recently read a few books on international issues that have moved me greatly and opened up the gates to a better understanding of struggles abroad. Now I am, with a heavy heart of appreciation for our fallen and wounded, working alongside Depe and Bethanie for .ORG Foundation. I’m excited for our future endeavors and happy to serve this great nation.
